Grieving in Color -Solo show

is a collection of mixed media works that offers a window into a rich bond among my intimate pandilla of 1st generation Miami childhood friends turned adults, grieving together for one of our own.
These works stand in for what is too difficult to verbalize, too rich a bond to explain, too complex a grief to share with anyone outside who knew Juandiego as deeply as we did. Spanglish, humor, thrill seeking, experimentation, solace, grunge, nature, and the purest of platonic love reside at the core of our memories with him and about him.
Our friend was impactful in the subtlest of ways, un hombre sincero. This show is dedicated with love to Juandiego Ochoa and the fight to bring mental health awareness to Latinx communities.
